This blog is for those men who are disheartened from the problem of PME. Its high time when you guys should come out of this taboo of not discussing the problem with your doctor and your partner who is already in distress.

What is Pre-Mature Ejaculation (PME)??

PME is reaching the climax of the act too early leaving your partner at a below threshold level giving rise to secondary symptoms of anxiety, depression, and embarrassment for both the partners.

Premature ejaculation is a form of sexual dysfunction that can adversely affect the quality of a man’s sex life. The problem may be complicated with reproduction inability and erectile dysfunction, but premature ejaculation (PME) can also adversely affect sexual satisfaction, both for men and their partners.

What is the cause of premature ejaculation?

In most cases, an inability to control ejaculation is rarely due to a medical condition, although doctors will need to rule this out. Psychological causes may include sexual inexperience, issues with body image, novelty of a relationship, overexcitement or too much stimulation, relationship stress, anxiety, feelings of guilt or inadequacy, depression, issues related to control and intimacy. On the other hand medical causes may include diabetes, multiple sclerosis, thyroid problems, illicit drug use, excessive alcohol consumption some time a tight frenulum may be the cause.

The problem of life long PME arises due to strict upbringing of a male child like strict sexual teaching and upbringing, traumatic experiences of sex, conditioning, for example, when a teenager learns to ejaculate quickly to avoid being found masturbating.

When to consult your urologist??

  • Vaginal sex lasts for less than 2 minutes before ejaculation occurs.
  • Ejaculation persistently or recurrently happens after very little sexual stimulation and before, during, or shortly after initial penetration, and before he wishes to climax.
  • There is marked personal distress or interpersonal difficulty because of the PME.
  • There is poor control over ejaculation.
  • Most attempts at sexual intercourse in the past 6 months have involved premature ejaculation.

Are there any remedial methods/medicine for PME or its not treatable??

PME is a treatable sexual function and one therapy which suits you may not suit others. Its an individualized plan laid between the patient, the partner (Couple therapy) and your urologist options include:

  • Desensitization: Using local anaesthetics, condoms and tramadol.
  • Drugs: SSRIs helps in prolonging IVET (Intra Vaginal Ejaculatory Time).
  • Surgery: Circumcision, Frenuloplasty
  • Exercises: Kegel’s Exercises
  • Partner/Self Manipulations: Start stop technique, squeeze technique.

A word of caution please don’t start any therapy on your own consult your urologist maybe you don’t even need any kind of therapy or you just need to be realistic, don’t fall prey to any kind of peer pressures, last but now the least please don’t believe and try match your expectations what you see in a porn movie.
